Get the zest of indigenous culture of Bhutan during your trip in Punakha. You will witness the breathtaking view from Dochula pass. At Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan you will visit the monumental Trashichhoe Dzong, National Textile Museum, Memorial Chorten and will see the tallest statue of Sakyamuni Buddha above Kuensal Phodrang Nature Park. Then you will be going to Paro. Paro is best known for the Cliffside Taktsang Monastery. Day 1 : Transfer to Thimphu

Our representative will welcome you on your arrival at Hasimara and then will take you to Phuentsholing for making the Inner Line Permit. From Phuentsholing the journey towards Thimpu will take around 6 hrs. Thimpu the capital city is the only city of Bhutan that will give you the flavour of impeccable blend of past and present in its astounding architectures. The road leading towards Thimphu are laid on the hilly terrain. The pictorial landscape of dense conifer trees and scenic valley will accompany you throughout your journey. Have lunch on the way to Thimphu. Check into your hotel and freshen up. In the evening you are free to rest in your hotel or else you can take a stroll in the market area of Thimphu and don't forget to taste the local delicacies. Stay overnight at Thimphu.

Day 2 : Thimpu Sightseeing

After early breakfast we will take you to explore Thimphu. Memorial Chorten will be your first destination. It was built to commemorate the memory of 3rd Drukpa Gyalpo and is situated in the heart of Thimphu. Many locals come here to enjoy the serene ambiance. Your next destination is Mothitang Takin Preserve. Takin, the national animal of Bhutan is preserved here. It is the best to visit this place during morning session as Takin comes near the fences to eat their food. This unique animal has created the interest of many animal lovers with its peculiar look. Next visit BBS Tower from where you will get a panoramic view of Thimphu City. After taking few clicks we will proceed to National Textile Museum. Learn to wear Gho and Kira while finding out the difference between royal dress and ordinary dress. After lunch we will take you to the famous Thimphu Dzong. Situated along the banks of Wang Chhu River, Thimphu Dzong also known as Trashichhoe Dzong with its monumental architecture and ancient artefacts has become a place which shouldn't be missed. Adore the colourful Thangkhas and paintings. Next we will proceed to Kuensal Phodrang Nature Park to witness the magnificent statue of Sakyamuni Buddha. Also known as Buddha Dordenma, the Buddha View Point has become the iconic landmark of Thimphu. The evening view of Thimphu Valley from Buddha view point has mesmerised the mind of many travellers. Return to your hotel after watching the spectacular view of Thimphu Valley. Stay overnight at Thimphu.

Day 3 : Transfer to Paro via Punakha

You will proceed to Paro en route Punakha after your early morning breakfast at Thimphu. Today our journey will be upwards as we will climb altitudes the scenery will keep changing, enjoy the scenic beauty on your journey. Our first stop is Dochula Pass 30 km from Thimphu. Situated at an elevation of 10,171 ft, the 108 memorial chortens of Dochula Pass were built in the memory of the Bhutanese soldiers. They were killed in the 2003 battle. Druk Wangyal Chorten is another name of 108 memorial chortens. Her Majesty, the eldest Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck commanded to build this 108 memorial. The beauty of Dochula Pass will surely take out your breath with its panoramic view of north-eastern territories of Bhutan. From here Punakha is 58 km away. Situated at an altitude of 3937 ft, Punakha is a historic town of Bhutan along the banks of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Your first destination at Punakha is Pungtang Dewa Chhenbi Phodrang commonly known as Punakha Dzong. Built in 1637-38 this Dzong is also the 2nd oldest and 2nd largest Dzong in Bhutan. Punakha Dzong with its monumental structure has been a must visit places in Punakha Valley from where traveller can get a spectacular view of the scenic gorge. After having our lunch we will proceed towards Paro. 127 km is the distance between Punakha and Paro and it takes approximate 4 hours to drive. Check in to your hotel at Paro and freshen up. You can take rest or else stroll around the place. Stay overnight at Paro.

Day 4 : Paro Sightseeing

After breakfast is the time for Paro Sightseeing. Located on the banks of Mo Chhu and Pa Chhu rivers, Paro is a scenically blessed town of Bhutan with many historically significant sites. Taktsang Monastery is the most prominent talked about attraction of Paro. A monastery built on the cliff. It is a two hour trek to reach Taktsang Monastery. Either you can trek or ride on a pony. From Taktsang Monastery you will get the most spectacular view of Paro valley. National Museum of Bhutan is located in the Conch shaped building of Ta Dzong. Here you will find artefacts dating back to 2nd century that will give you an insight about the early Bhutanese era. After lunch we will take you to Paro Dzong. Paro Dzong is known as the Fortress on a Heap of Jewel, is also listed under the tentative sites of UNESCO. Since the main sanctum housing the Thondrol of Guru Rinpoche opens only during the annual Tsechu you can only walk in the courtyard of the Dzong. After enjoying the exotic sight of the purple jacaranda trees and shimmering water of Po Chhu and Mo Chhu return to your hotel. You are free for the rest of the day. After launch you may take a stroll around the locality to get acquainted with the local cultures. Stay overnight at Paro.

Day 5 : Drop at Hasimara

You will proceed to Hasimara after having your early morning breakfast. From Paro to Hasimara it is a 6 hrs journey. Enjoy the mesmerising view of the astounding landscape of Paro while saying goodbye to the mystical land of Bhutan. You will have to cover an approx distance of 179 km to reach Hasimara Railway Station and your 4 Nights and 5 Days Kanchenjungha holiday's tour package will come to an end.
