Get transferred to Sikkim’s capital Gangtok. It is a popular hill station situated at an altitude of 5,410 ft. Lunch will be served on the route to Gangtok. You are now free for the day after checking into your accommodation. Take a stroll down the lovely M G Marg, where you’ll find bright souvenir shops, cafes, diners, and other shops. While meandering along M G Marg, you will get a better look at Sikkim’s indigenous cultures, colorful traditions, and local foods. After dinner, night halt in Gangtok.
Wake up today in a happy mood after spending a cozy night in Gangtok. You’ll go sightseeing at Tsomgo Lake and the Baba Mandir. Changu Lake, which is located at an elevation of 12313 feet above sea level, will wow you with its picturesque beauty. Then, to whet your appetite, try Tibetan noodles. Then we’ll embark on our trek to Baba Mandir. Harbhajan Singh, an Indian army captain renowned as the “Hero of Nathu La,†was honored with a shrine. Take a look at the mandir and Baba’s belongings before returning to Gangtok. Dinner will be served shortly; in the meantime, rest up. Finally, we’ll spend the second night in Gangtok.
We will transport you to Lachen today from Gangtok. On the way to Lachen, you will be spending some time at Singhik View Point. Get the tantalizing view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt. Siniolchu. Afterward, you’ll take a pause at Seven Sisters Waterfalls. Bask in the glory of cascading water from this vantage point. On your journey, you’ll pass through Chungthang, a quaint town on the banks of the Lachung Chhu. Chungthang Lachung Chhu and Lachen Chhu join together to form the Teesta River. Guru Padmasambhava is said to have sanctified this spot by leaving his handprints and footprints on a rock. Make your way to the hotel and rest when you arrive. Dinner will be served in the evening, followed by a night stay.
You will begin your excursion to Gurudongmar Lake early in the morning. It’ll take you about 3 hours to get there from Lachen. After being fascinated by the beauty of this stunning lake, return to Lachen. Check out from your accommodation after lunch and travel to Lachen Monastery, where you’ll begin your journey to Lachung via Chungthang. On the way to Lachung, you’ll come upon the Bhim Nala Waterfall. Lachung is a small village in North Sikkim with a stunning view of snow-capped mountains, vibrant rhododendron valleys, and lush green yak pastures. After dinner, you’ll spend the night in Lachung.
Yumthang Valley popularly known as the Valley of Flowers is today’s first attraction you will visit. You’ll pass through the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary on your route to Yumthang Valley. The ideal time to visit this sanctuary would be between April and June when the rhododendrons are in full bloom and the sanctuary becomes a riot of colours. Yumthang is shrouded in white snow in the winter, revealing the vista of snow-capped mountains, adding to the ethereal grandeur of the location. Don’t forget to stop by the famed hot spring noted for its healing effects on your return journey from Yumthang. After checking out of your hotel and before departing for Gangtok, explore Lachung Monastery for a while. Stay in Gangtok for the night after being served your dinner.
After breakfast, check out of your resort and spend the rest of the day seeing Gangtok’s sights. First, go to Banjhakhri Falls and Energy Park. After that, you’ll visit Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, a well-known institute that conducts research on Tibetan language and culture. The Rumtek Monastery will be the next stop on the itinerary. On your walk to Dharma Chakra Centre, you’ll pass through a large stupa called as Dro-Dul Chorten, which was built in 1946 to guard off evil.
After that, we’ll take you to Hanuman Tok, where you’ll see a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The vista of Kanchenjunga from this location is well-known. Your final stop before departing Sikkim is Rope Way, where you can get a 360-degree view of Gangtok. Now is the time to start your four-hour journey to NJP/Bagdogra.
